Self Confessed National TV Fanatics

National TV

Yes we are self confessed national TV fanatics. We've been providing the reality TV show The Block with mirrors and art prints for nearly 10 years now, and this year we were excited to supply The Block contestants with more products than ever. Not surprising considering the magnitude of the project this year.

The Block Tree Change located in country Victoria took on the challenge of renovating 5 houses around 400 square metres each on 10 acres of land in the beautiful Macedon ranges near Gisborne.

If you watched this year's season, amongst the drama you may have seen some of the prints and mirrors we supplied.

Scott Cam

The show's celebrity host also renovated a sixth home and the above Riverstone Mirror was selected as a hallway feature.

That was but the start, as Scott's long "gallery" hallways and bedrooms featured a fruitful selection of Print Decor mirrors.

Frankie the Star of The Block

It came as no surprise that Adam Cullen's artwork of Growler ended up in Scott Cam's house. His trusty cattle dog Frankie was a close companion throughout the show.

The Block Winners, Omar and Oz

We had the pleasure of meeting Omar when he came to our gallery to select framed prints and mirrors. They ended up taking a selection of nine mirrors and framed prints, more than any of the other contestants. Of course we're convinced that this is the reason they were the winning contestants of the show :)

Huge rooms, such as O & O's massive Living and Dining Room integrated the above Versailles Mirror, providing some old world charm to an otherwise contemporary room.

Toward the end of the 12 weeks' renovation fest, the 2 beautiful artworks by Aboriginal Artist Jeanie Nagangardi Lewis were screened. Mina Mina Jukurrpa 1Mina Mina Jukurrpa 2.

Oh but there's more of Print Decor's mirrors and art that graced Omar and Oz's magnificent Block Tree Change Home.

Above the Brass Riverstone Mirror was located in a powder room as was the round Looking Glass Mirror and the freestanding Arched Top Dressing Mirror landed in a guest bedroom.

Below the boys selected 2 limited edition photographic works by Nick Psomiadas. Unfortunately due to the heavy rain the Work from Home space wasn't completed in time for judging. Omar had Nick rush these local Victorian images to be ready for the judging ... oh well.

And then there were Houses 2, 3 & 4

All in all Print Decor supplied around 30 mirrors and framed art prints for The Block this year, satisfying our avid desire to appear on the TV. We have found over the years that this reality TV show helps people visualise their own home renovation ambitions and we are grateful to be given the opportunity to showcase some of our beautiful home decor products.

The images below show some of the other mirrors selected by contestants. You can click on the image to see more details on the Print Decor website.

P.S. As mentioned I had the pleasure to meet Omar when he arrived with the Chanel 9 film crew in The Block van. We had a lot of fun helping him select mirrors and artworks for his house. He also kindly offered to collect mirrors for other contestants to save them the 2 hour round trip from Gisborne to Malvern and back.

The cameras were rolling out the back of our shop, as we were loading a large mirror into the van, I could see we were in trouble, I called out "Hey Jezza grab some cardboard because this mirror is about to break," Jezza acted fast and grabbed a huge cardboard box, at that moment a gust of wind caught the box and bopped Omar on the head!! We all froze as he turned around with tears of laughter and our great relief. It was a real pleasure to help such a friendly, jovial person.

If only that footage had made it onto the show ... as I said we are Self Confessed National TV Fanatics after all. oh well, hopefully we'll get another chance with The Block 2023, located in Hampton East. It'll only take the contestants 18 mins to come and visit us in Malvern.

OK, now I'll stop talking : Regards, Bernie and the PD Team.
