We encourage you to come in for a framing consultation with any artwork you need framed. We have over 30 years experience in the trade, all our staff are trained in frame design and art conservation. We are passionate about providing personalised customer service and providing the highest quality product.
Here is what we go over in our frame consultations:
- Any ideas that you have on what works best for the artwork.
- Bring in photos of your home and other art you have and we can make suggestions that will work in with your personal taste.
- Frames and mat designs that work with the artwork and will enhance the artwork itself. We go over the right frame colour and design, and the right mat board colour, including multiple mats and textures.
- The sizing that you need for the artwork to fit in the space that you want it, including mat board size and overall size.
- If the artwork is very valuable, we will usually offer UV Conservation Art Glass. (See more on this below)
- Different glass options including; regular glass, non reflective glass or perspex.
- Acid free mat boards and backing board to preserve your artwork over time.

The ins and outs of frame design
The most important part of framing is the design itself. We see all kinds of artwork come through our doors, from modern style art, to watercolours, aboriginal paintings and even an original Picasso! This means we need to be able to cater to all different styles of art, as well as the personal taste of the client. Here are just a few frame designs that we have showcased to show different types of design.

This piece was a family heirloom, so we needed to make it look special. We chose a Bellini Italian gold ornate frame and paired it with a black mat board. Choosing the correct black can sometimes be quite a trick, believe it or not there are over 20 shades of black to choose from. This black suited the art best. We then used a simple gold fillet inside the mat. We left a 15mm white space showing of the print to show the artist signature. We used art glass for this frame design, which protects the art from UV fading and damage and also is non reflective, so that you can barely tell it's there.
Our client was overjoyed at the final product!

Framing featured on The Block TV Show! This piece was featured in Bianca and Carla's hallway on The Block 2018. We also sell the beautiful art work, 'Drifting III' by Celeste Wrona.
This is an example for a more simplistic modern style framing with and gallery style black box frame and a fresh white mat board. It's important to use a wide mat when using a black frame, to give the art more space and make it stand out.
