About Robyn Dansie.
My work is largely an expression of who I am and how I see
my world.
I wish to know things as they really are, and fully
realize the potential that this generates by attempting to
penetrate directly to the heart of reality seeking to be
free, clearer, wiser and happier resulting in perfect
understanding, infinite freedom and unrestricted
creativity.
Working toward this goal allows me to use an extensive
range of materials which has the capability of expanding
my work artistically, visually and emotionally. Responding
to this creative energy results in a new journey exploring
ideas and taking risks which are essential for me as an
artist.
Using lost and found images, words and language, my
approach is with a vision towards the expressionistic and
contemporary. I paint using things that already exist;
this is what feels true to me. I need to reflect on
culture, past and present, producing compositions which
are, at the same time, both provocative and whimsical. I
intend to propel the viewer into scenes of seemingly
unrelated subjects, both pop and edgy, creating a visual
language of paradox and juxtaposition.
I want people to bring their own thoughts and feelings
into my artwork.
