Leda and The Swan is an original painting by local Australian artist Gill Del-Mace 1945-2024. In Greek mythology, Leda was a queen of Sparta who was seduced by Zeus, who had taken the form of a swan. The story of Leda and the Swan has been a popular subject in art throughout history, including in paintings, sculptures, and other artistic media. 

Gill was an accomplished figurative artist who works primarily in oils. Her style is characterized by its realism and attention to detail, and she often explored themes of beauty, danger, and the surreal. Read more about the artist here >>>
