Melbourne photographer Karen Tonna with an exquisite eye for exceptional beauty

Karen Tonna took up photography when she was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer. She said the courses she studied to perfect her craft taught her many things, however, the most fundamental skill she learnt was to really observe the world around her. She produced more than 4,000 photographs over 8 years, insisting her art would persist despite her bodies’ deterioration.

Karen passed away on 18th September 2018 and, as promised, her art remains to remind us there is beauty in the world - you simply have to LOOK! Karen wished to limit her beautiful flower images shown here to an edition of 50 prints plus artists proofs. Each image comes with a certificate with a replica of the artist's signature.
