John Olsen passed away on Tuesday 11 April 2023

One of Australia's most loved and awarded artist has has moved on.

We were honoured to be invited to an exhibition of Olsen's some years ago and meet John in person. He was in top form, witty, friendly and served one of his favourite dishes Paella, the subject of a number of his beautiful works of art.

John's affinity for all living things is manifest in his art, but it was such a delight to experience his love of those around him in person on that "You Beaut" exhibition night.

The gracefulness of his Giraffes above, and the pride and majesty of the White Rhino below are examples of John's uncanny skill to endow life and character to these beautiful creatures.

We've had the pleasure of stocking and framing John Olsen's art and limited edition prints for many years. I recall his edition of Spring Frogs selling out faster than any edition. Customers who have purchased John's works or brought them in for custom framing have been noticeably appreciative of his ability to see and capture the unique qualities of life and nature.
